Our busy Sunday continues…

We had a jam-packed day last Sunday. We started out the day at the lamb farm, and then followed it with lunch out with my parents, sister & nephews.

After lunch, my dad, Cory & nephew “I” headed back home. The boys & I, my mom, sister & nephew “N” headed over to my cousin’s wife’s baby shower. (They had been blessed with a little baby girl back in February but because they decided to keep the “boy/girl” a surprise until she was born, they decided a shower after the birth would be a better fit.)

This was also during prime naptime & I’m one to try to preserve my boys’ naptime as much as possible! The boys fell asleep in the car just minutes after leaving the restaurant, and slept the entire ride there. Perfect! After arriving at the shower location, I chilled out in the car reading a book to try to let the boys sleep a little bit longer – which worked.

After they woke up, we went into the shower and they were excited to play with little cousin “N” & some of the other kids. We brought along quite a few toys to keep them entertained & the hardest part of the day was getting them to share their toys nicely with the other kids. Although it was kind of funny because all they wanted to do was play with little cousin “N”’s toys & weren’t even playing with theirs but would get upset when someone else tried to play with something of theirs. We had a few discussions on sharing & the boys adjusted well. (They really share well at home & at daycare but I think was the first situation where we had our toys somewhere new & they had to share with other kids they didn’t know.)

They even got to have a cupcake as a “special” treat & Wyatt dug full-force into one of them and loved it. Colton, on the other hand, was not even remotely interested in trying the cupcake (this kid does not really like sweets….is he even my child??!!). We had a fun day visiting with family & the boys behaved so well for me.

We ended the day, when we got home, with a 4-wheeler ride for Cory & the boys while I made home-made pizza for dinner.

  1. They are SO cute!
We avoid disturbing nap time at all cost too!!! How great that they slept in the car and slept a little while longer while you read a book in the car - perfect is right!!
We've had sharing issues as well...and my girls are similar to your boys...one love sweets, and the other could easily do without. It always amazes me how different they can be! =)

  2. Thank you Megan.

We just have a much happier household if they nap & we're the ones that have to deal with them if we miss it or it gets cut short.

Isn't that funny how different they can be?! Totally amazes me too.
