We made our annual trip to a local lamb farm this past Sunday. The boys were only 8 months old
last year when we made the trip. The weather was much nicer than in years past. We also met up with grandpa & grandma “S” and my sister “C” & two nephews again this year.
We arrived right as they opened, so the crowds weren’t too bad at first. The boys were eager to see the little chickens first. Wyatt was excited to pet one too. Big cousin “I” was even brave enough this year to hold one!

Next we went over to see the pigs, but we were about 3 days too early for the little piglets’ arrival. The big mama pig still intrigued the boys though.

Onto the sheep next! The boys were a little leery of the sheep at first because they were so load when they bleated (& were right at their level). Their favorite animal sound to repeat at home is the sheep – “Baa Baa!” but I don’t think they expected them to be so noisy. We went over to the area where they let you hold the baby lambs next but neither boy was interested in doing that, so Cory & Colton sat next to one of the workers who was holding one and let him slowly warm up to it. Wyatt sat next to aunt “C” who was holding a little lamb too. Both lambs were very quiet (the one was even sleeping) so the boys warmed up to them very quickly & were brave enough to pet them a couple times.

Next was the pen with a big cow & a calf. Wyatt loved seeing the cow & saying “Mooooo!” to it so much; silly child was even trying to climb through the gate to get closer to them.
Lastly was a pen that held a couple goats & a couple sheep. They had a feed-dispenser (exactly like the candy dispensers they have at the mall!) that you paid $.25 to get a handful of feed. Daddy guided the boys & both were brave enough (along with cousin “I”) to hold out their hands & let the animals eat from them. There was also a small pen with a couple pigmy goats outside of the barn that Wyatt was eager to pet as we were leaving.

It was a fun visit that exposed the boys to all kinds of animals we read about in books. They warmed up quickly & had a great time!

The best picture we could get of the two of them together!

The funniest part of the whole morning was the number of twin families we ran into at the farm. We ran into a total of 6-8 families with twins (2 of the families we knew) – all being boys ages 3 & under (except for one set of girls around 18 months old) – which was crazy!
