21 months old today!
April is here & spring is in full swing! I’ve already been able to hit up & score big at my first kids’ consignment sale of the year & am looking forward to hitting up another one next week! We are preparing our hearts to celebrate Easter this weekend & spend time with family. The weather remains fairly nice to continue to enjoy all the fun outdoor activities like walks/runs, playing at the playground & digging in the dirt.
Each month, as they get older, I see them interacting more & more. It’s such a joy to watch their relationship develop. Some days it’s the “naughty” things like pushing or hitting but most days are full of hugs, snuggles, chasing each other & laughing together. They show such concern for their brother, it pulls at my heart. If they wake up before brother does, they ask for brother & hate to leave the bedroom without him. If they get a snack, they want one for brother. If they get their blanket & nuk before bed they are worried that brother needs his too. They get each other’s “snuggly” animals for them at bedtime. It’s just so sweet to see.
Sleep has been great lately. They are sleeping around 11-12 hours each night. They fall asleep between 7:00-7:15 PM. (Our bedtime routine is: bath (on bath night), lotion & jammies, blanket & book.) They still have been waking up a little early around 5:30-5:50 AM some days but when they do they usually chill out in their cribs until 6 AM (or later on the weekend) without much of a peep. Sometimes I don’t even realize they are awake, but when I go into their room to get them up for the day they are both hanging out quietly in their cribs…probably just easing into the day!
Wyatt
- loves to say “Hi!” & “Bu-bye!” to everyone & says it so clearly! (these kids are friendly – they say Hi/Bye to people out in stores, people walking by our house, anywhere!)
- eats his food very well but has been acting up within the past 2 weeks with throwing food & laughing about it (which immediately puts an end to meal time but so far, it’s just not sinking in)
- loves watching for “memi” (semi), bus & truck, especially while riding in the car – attempt to say all three words fairly well
- loves sitting & climbing on his new chair; loves to play his “game” where he asks you to sit on his chair, but when you try to he giggles, sits down on it & says “Mine!” – too funny!
- loves getting dirty/messy – he is always the first one to dig in the dirt!
- has 8 teeth (I haven’t done a thorough tooth check lately – so this may not be accurate)
Colton
- loves to say “Hi!” & “Bye!” to everyone & says it so clearly! (these kids are friendly – they say Hi/Bye to people out in stores, people walking by our house, anywhere!)
- has picked back up on some of his normal eating habits – he’s been eating more, even though he still picks over his veggies most of the time
- loves watching for “memi” (semi), bus & truck, especially while riding in the car – says all three words very well!
- loves reading books on his new chair but gets upset if Wyatt sits in “his” chair
- does not like to get dirty/messy very often – still loves to dig in the dirt but is much more careful about it than Wyatt is; also did not like a “rolling egg in paint” project at daycare this week because it would have gotten his hands dirty
- has 16 teeth (I haven’t done a thorough tooth check lately – so this may not be accurate, but I believe all his teeth are in)
I'm loving all the updates!!! Keep em coming!
