Happy 80th Birthday Grandpa!

My mom & her sisters threw a surprise 80th birthday party for my grandpa this weekend at my mom’s hometown church. It was a fun time & I was able to visit with quite a few of my cousins that I don’t see very often. The party was right during the middle of the boys’ “prime” nap time, so I caught a ride over with my sister early and Cory headed over with the boys after naps (sometimes you just do what you’ve got to do to have happy children, am I right?!).

After my grandpa’s birthday party, all of my mom’s immediate family headed back to my aunt & uncle’s farm for more visiting & a big birthday party celebration. We have someone in our family turning 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 & 80 (just missing a 70!) – all this year!!

Cory & I both grew up with our grandparents farming & had the constant exposure to life on the farm, something the boys will not have, so we were both super excited to give them this experience. The boys had a blast investigating everything there was to do on a farm. Just like the sheep we saw in March, they were curious but weren’t so sure about those loud cows! The boys got to see the cows, visit the calf barn, sit on numerous tractors with daddy and just explore. What fun! The weather was beautiful, which made the day even better.

Meeting the "baby" calves -
as you can tell, Colton is being EXTRA cautious!

Wyatt saying "Hi!"
(just seconds after this, the calf let out a really
loud "moo" & scared him!)

...and of course, we didn't get a family picture that day - even though we were all dressed up & looking so good!!
