The boys’ had picked out their own theme, from a long list of ideas I ran by them, & I knew it was a perfect fit for them this year. (I was actually very surprised we didn’t have a “Jake & the Pirates” party as they are pirate-crazy right now.)
The invites turned out super cute & I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed, as I had Kottage On 5th design their 1st birthday party invite – so easy! I also decided to buy them personalized party t-shirts again this year but went with a different vendor, Greatstitch, that had designs that fit our truck theme. They loved them & were excited to wear them.
It was a warm & muggy day, but still bearable (& after the 8-month-long winter we had, I’m not going to complain about this hot weather one bit!). We had a great turnout but also knew that it would be a busy weekend for most of our party guests with the 4th landing on a Thursday this year.
My good friend “D” made their cakes again this year (she is our “personal” baker for birthdays because she is so awesome & talented and because she can guarantee me a peanut-free environment that most regular bakeries can’t) and she didn’t disappoint – the cakes were AWESOME. Each boy had his “own” cake with his name on to celebrate – something they thought was really cool. Thanks again "D"!!
We sang “Happy Birthday!” to each one and they each blew out their own candles – Wyatt first, then Colton. I know it may not seem like a big deal, but they have to share most everything, including their birthday, so I wanted each of them to have their own special moment & feel like it was all about just them.
The party was a success and we were happy that so many friends & family were able to join us in celebrating one more year of health & happiness & blessings with these two little kiddos.

I know all parents say this, but I just can’t believe that they are already 3 years old. It goes so.fast. So much has changed in our lives in the past 3 years, that it’s just crazy to look back on. The first year, we just were trying to adjust to our new roles as parents & survive. The second year we settled into that role a little bit more & the routine of having children; we saw so many changes going from barely walking & barely talking to running & chattering non-stop. This third year has been a blast in which they have grown into more independent little people whose true personalities have emerged more & more every day. They are little sponges that have a great love of learning – and it’s our responsibility to do just that…teach & love them. I’m ready for a fun & exciting year ahead, learning & growing right alongside of my children.
Happy 3rd Birthday Wyatt! Happy 3rd Birthday Colton!
Mommy & Daddy love you more than you’ll ever know!
