Here is our bucket list for the summer of 2012:
1.
Talk nightly walks (done!)
2.
Play at the local park (done: 6/2, 7/2, 7/13, 8/2, 8/19)
3.
Have at least one “swim-day” a month at one of the local pools (done: 6/21, 6/30, 8/3)
4.
Visit the zoo (done: 7/2)
5.
Eat ice cream/frozen yogurt on a warm day (done: 8/23)
6.
Enjoy root beer floats (done: 7/8)
7.
Go fishing (done: 6/15, 6/16, 7/20, 7/21, 8/10)
8.
Ride in a boat (done: 6/15, 6/16, 7/20, 7/21, 8/10, 8/11)
9.
Go camping (done: 6/14-6/17, 7/19-7/22, 8/9-8/12)
10. Run/walk a 5k as a family (weekends filled up too fast – maybe this fall??)
11.
Visit the aquarium (done: 8/25)
12.
Party & celebrate Wyatt & Colton turning 2! (done: 7/6,7/7)
13.
Play in the rain (done: 5/26)
14.
Visit our local splash pad (done: 6/9,7/4)
15.
Attend the local county fair (done: 7/13,7/14)
16. Have friends over for a grill-out / campfire (again, weekends filled up too fast – we had plenty of fun with friends though)
17.
Go to a Brewers game (done: 6/16)
18.
Splash around in the pool/sprinkler at home on a hot day (done: 6/9,6/10,6/28,7/17, 7/23, 7/25, 7/30, 8/26)
19. Roast marshmallows (did this while camping, but without the boys so we’ll have to try again with them next year!)
20.
Play in the sand & get dirty (done: 7/7, 7/8, 7/17, 7/30, 8/16, 8/22, 8/30 – probably more than twice a week, all summer!)
21.
Eat fresh corn on the cob (done: 7/23, 8/10)
22.
Visit our local drive-in & eat outside (done: 7/8)
23.
Swim in the lake (done: 7/1, 7/8, 7/21)
24.
Build a sand castle (done: 7/21)
25.
Visit a local farmer’s market & get fresh fruit/veggies (done: 7/23)
This was just a fun list to try to encourage our family to get out & do different things during the summer and it WORKED! We ended the summer completing almost everything on our list and had a great time doing it.
