Well, here we are – the last week in the 20’s…I’m so excited to be hitting the 30 week mark tomorrow. Each week that passes without complications is a blessing and that’s how we’re taking it – week-by-week!
Last Friday afternoon I worked from home because my hands & feet were really starting to swell up at work because it was really hot & humid in the office – being at home really helped out a lot. Cory put up the closet organizer in the nursery that afternoon and I played around with its design Saturday morning (it’s a re-arrangeable one). Saturday morning I also did a little summer maternity clothes shopping and picked up some shorts, capris and tank tops. Saturday afternoon I went to a baby shower for Cory’s cousin’s wife who is due and expecting a little boy at the end of June – it was a rubber ducky themed party and had a ton of fun games and beautiful decorations! Saturday evening I did a little more organizing in the nursery closet and Cory & I also put together the pack ‘n play. Sunday was my last baby shower which was with my mom’s side of the family. All of my aunts and almost all of my girl cousins were able to make it & we had a good time and I received a ton of nice gifts – Thank You everyone!!
This week has been dedicated to searching for a dresser to match the cribs (more difficult than I thought it would be), washing & organizing all thrift sale & second-hand clothing so I can see what we have and look through all the brand new items to see if we still need anymore. This afternoon we have an ultrasound, which I am really looking forward to so I can see the boys again. Tonight I’m also visiting some of the local fabric stores with a good friend to pick out some fabric; she will be making bed skirts for the cribs in plain dark brown to match the bedding we already have – she is the best!

29 Weeks
*How far along? 29 weeks 4 days
*How big is baby? The babies are as big as squashes during this 7th month.
*Genders? Two boys!
*Total weight gain? I am up around 25-30 lbs or so from pre-pregnancy weight.
*Maternity Clothes? All maternity clothes now! I had to break down this weekend and finally buy some more capris, shorts & tanks to add to my wardrobe with the warmer weather here for the summer.
*Stretch marks? None yet – keeping my fingers crossed!
*Sleep? More & more difficult each day – bathroom breaks are more frequent and rolling over is more difficult day by day. I’m getting up on average every two hours so I guess my body is starting to get trained for when the boys arrive!
*Movement? They have to be starting to run out of room to move around so freely in there but they still remain two active little boys in there.
*Food cravings? My new favorite snack is frozen Yoplait Whips yogurt – strawberry – so yummy!!
*Labor signs? None really – I believe I’m having Braxton-Hicks contracts daily but nothing consistent at all.
*Belly button in or out? It’s “popped” all the way out; I don’t my “innie” left anymore.
*What I miss? A good night’s sleep, although I know I’m still a long way away from that again.
*What I am looking forward to? Of course I’m really excited about seeing the boys at our next ultrasound on Wednesday. I’m also looking forward to camping & relaxing during the long Memorial Day weekend.
*Best moment this week? Passing my 3-hour glucose test! (This means no more worries about Gestational Diabetes at this time.) I also had a great time at my baby shower yesterday which was thrown by my godmother, cousin & sisters. It was nice to see and visit with all of my aunts and a couple cousins and the games were a blast. We also received a bunch of very nice presents including our baby monitors (yeah!!), bottles, onesies, hooded towels & hand-made blankets – thank you everyone!

28 Week Update
I’m a little late on this week’s update but I’ve had a busy week both at work & home. Since I’m technically 29 weeks today, I can’t believe that I’m only a week away from the 30 week mark of the twins’ pregnancy - the time is flying by too fast. So far, so good (with no complications) and we pray that the same will continue!
Last Friday I had the day off of work and spent it thrift-saleing and shopping with my Mom. We had a fun day together and I had some success finding a few things that I needed. Friday night I had a dinner out/baby shower with the “softball girls” – all of our husbands play softball together and we’ve all become pretty close friends. Dinner out was awesome – good food and it was great catching up with everyone. The girls were so generous and gave us a Radio Flyer wagon, our 2nd high chair and a bunch of feeding accessories – thanks again girls!! Saturday and Sunday we did some cleaning in the house, as well as some baby gear organizing and I got a good start on writing out “Thank You’s” for my last shower.
I had failed my 1-hour glucose blood test at my doctor’s appointment last week so I had to go in this week for the longer 3-hour glucose blood test. I went in Tuesday, after fasting all night, and spent my morning in the lab. It was all worth it in the end though because all of my number came back in the normal range meaning that I PASSED!! Gestational diabetes is common in pregnancy, and women who have a ‘multiples’ pregnancy have an increased risk, so finding out that it is not a complication I have to deal with at this point was very relieving.
We have a busy weekend ahead filled with parties – baby showers and birthday celebrations. I am looking forward to having my last baby shower this weekend on Sunday, which is for my mom’s side of the family. I am very excited to see & visit with everyone – most I haven’t seen since just after Christmas when we first announced that I was pregnant.

28 Weeks
*How far along? 28 weeks 4 days
*How big is baby? The babies are as big as eggplants during this 6th month.
*Genders? Two boys!
*Total weight gain? I am up around 20-25 lbs or so from pre-pregnancy weight.
*Maternity Clothes? All maternity clothes now!
*Stretch marks? None yet – keeping my fingers crossed!
*Sleep? staying steady – bathroom breaks are still frequent and rolling over is more difficult each day.
*Movement? I definitely have two active little boys in there and they remind me of that daily – this is the number one thing I will miss about being pregnant.
*Food cravings? No strong ”pregnancy” cravings – although my mom & I had a free sample of some frozen yogurt on Friday afternoon and that is all I’ve been thinking about ever since...
*Labor signs? None really – I believe I’m having Braxton-Hicks contracts daily but nothing consistent at all.
*Belly button in or out? It’s pretty much “popped” all the way out; I don’t my “innie” left anymore.
*What I miss? Getting a ton done around the house and out & about in one day – we cleaned house yesterday, did some shopping and got groceries – I was tired and my feet were sore by the end of that!
*What I am looking forward to? Not looking forward to it – but doing my 3-hour glucose test tomorrow morning & getting the results back one way or another. I failed my 1-hour glucose test last Monday & I hate being in this “waiting” period where I don’t know if I’m worried for nothing or if I’ll have to deal with having Gestational Diabetes during the rest of my pregnancy.
*Best moment this week? I had a blast having the day off of work & spending it thrift-saleing with my Mom on Friday – also, thanks to a good friend, I found an awesome deal on a slightly used Double Snap & Go stroller which I will use as my stroller for the babies’ first 6 months or so. I also had a great time Friday night going out to supper with the “softball” girls. I haven’t seen some of them in awhile, so it was nice to get caught up and they were super awesome and gave us a tons of gifts for the boys, including a Radio Flyer wagon & our 2nd high chair – thanks girls, you are the BEST!!

27 Week Update
This past week has been jam-packed but luckily I’ve retained my increased energy level and have loved every minute of it. Last Friday night we were able to help celebrate Cory’s cousin’s little girl’s 1st birthday by going to her birthday party. She is such a cutie & growing up so fast – she is also getting a new baby brother early this fall, which we are super excited about as well! Saturday was my baby shower put on by Cory’s mom, for his side of the family & family friends. We had a great turnout & it was so nice to see everyone. There were a total of 4 pregnant women there, including me, one of Cory’s cousin and two of his cousin’s wives – all due between May & September of this year – crazy, huh??!! We received an abundance of wonderful gifts from everyone which has now filled up our “extra” room with gifts & gift bags that need to be organized this weekend (which I’m actually looking forward to because I love that kind of stuff – especially since it’s for my babies).
On Sunday, my sweet, sweet husband gave me a certificate for a massage as a mommy-to-be Mother’s Day present. He said I can use it before the babies are here or as a relaxing treat after the babies arrive – I might wait until after they are here to redeem it. We celebrated Mother’s Day for our mothers by visiting Cory’s mom in the morning and having lunch at my parent’s house at noon.
This week has been busy with Cory & I both having meetings on Monday night and me meeting with two close friends for dinner last night – sometimes I have to remember to slow myself down before I over-do it for what my new pregnancy body can handle.

*Total weight gain? I am up around 20-25 lbs or so from pre-pregnancy weight.

*Sleep? Slowly declining in quality. Bathroom breaks seem to be getting more frequent and rolling over is getting to be a little more difficult.
*Movement? I am feeling increased movement every day – sometimes it feels like an all-out boxing match in there and other times they just like to roll around & around.
*Food cravings? No strong ”pregnancy” cravings. My appetite is back to being smaller again – I can’t eat as much at one time so that just means more small snacking throughout the day, which is hard to remember to do sometimes.
*Labor signs? None.
*Belly button in or out? It’s “popped” even more this week; I really don’t my “innie” left anymore.
*What I miss? Getting ready for work in a short time. I’ve had an increase in my belly itchiness within the last few weeks so I try to layer on as much lotion in the morning as possible, after my shower, to help combat that – it just seems to take me a lot longer to do that and let it dry before I can get dressed & fly out the door.
*What I am looking forward to? Having the day off of work to go thrift-saleing with my mom on Friday. I’m also looking forward to my baby shower this next Friday night with the “softball girls”.
*Best moment this week? Going to our good friend’s little girl’s 1st birthday party Friday night (I can’t believe how fast the time goes by & how quickly they grow-up) and my baby shower for my husband’s side of the family (& family friends) yesterday (we had a great turnout and with a couple of fun games & awesome food – we received so many nice presents for the boys, I really want to thank everyone who was able to make it out and for all the great gifts).

26 Week Update
I count each week that passes, without complications, during this pregnancy a huge blessing from God. I can’t wait to meet these two little boys but I don’t want them to make an appearance anytime soon. I want them to grow & develop as much as possible before they enter this world.
The biggest highlight of this past week was the wonderful baby shower two of my closest friends put on for me this past Sunday. It included a small group of high school friends, along with a couple of their moms that I am fairly close to. My shower hostesses went above & beyond on everything – the food, the desserts, the party favors – I can’t thank them enough. Instead of the normal baby shower games they provided plain white onesies & burp rags for the shower guests to decorate with paints & markers. It was such a cute idea and they turned out awesome! I received some amazing gifts from all of my friends – they all truly are the best and have been so generous to the boys already. A big “Thank You!” to all the ladies that made it out to my shower on Sunday.
We also had our last birth class last night which was “Breastfeeding”. The class was very informative and I received a lot of good information from the class. Cory came along with me and did not feel out of place at all as most of the ladies that attended class also brought their significant others along. He has been my biggest support throughout this whole pregnancy and this class showed him other ways to help out & support me after the babies are born.

*Sleep? Slowly declining in quality – it is starting to get harder each night to find a comfortable position to sleep in but that is to be expected at this point in pregnancy, right??!!
*Movement? I am feeling increased movement every day – these boys still have plenty of room to bounce around in.
*Food cravings? No strong ”pregnancy” cravings. My appetite is starting to shrink again – I can’t eat as much at one time without feeling over-stuffed.
*Labor signs? None.
*Belly button in or out? It’s “popping” even more this week; I don’t have much of an “innie” left anymore.
*What I miss? Good sleep – the past week has been rough, so I’m hoping I can figure out something that will help me get a little more comfortable.
*What I am looking forward to? We will have our last prenatal class this week which is a breastfeeding class – I’m hoping to get some good information at that one. I’m also looking forward to my baby shower this next Saturday for my husband’s side of the family.
*Best moment this week? Seeing the boys on the ultrasound again (it just never gets old & I am in love with them more & more each time I get to see them) and my baby shower thrown by a couple close friends yesterday (we had an awesome turnout and it was really nice to see all my good friends that were able to make it – we received a ton of awesome gifts for the boys).
