Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday, we woke up early (OK, not really early for us but by everyone else’s standards!) and met my parents, sister & nephews at our church to attend the sunrise service. It’s been a tradition of ours for years & now that I have kids who rise very early, it doesn’t seem quite that early anymore! After the church service, our church youth serve an egg-bake breakfast with muffins, Danish, milk & juice which we always stay for.

After church, we headed home to help the boys search for their Easter baskets. They were serious about being on the hunt for those baskets & even broke out their flashlights to check every corner & closet. After much searching – Colton found his basket under mommy’s desk downstairs and Wyatt found his basket in the downstairs bathroom. They dug into all their goodies, which consisted of new Jake & the Pirates books, cups, squeeze fruit, bath toys, jellybeans & a chocolate sucker (special ordered – made in a peanut-free factory!). They loved it.

On the hunt...

Found one!

Wyatt checking out his "treasure".

Can't wait to read those new books!

We headed over to my parents’ house for lunch and visiting with both of my sisters (& nephews too). My mom made this most-delicious strawberry-cream-cheese-pretzel pie, which was a hit with everyone including the boys. The boys & my nephews played hard at “Papa’s” house so when it was time for naps, we headed home to get a little rest (yes, even Mommy & Daddy got a little nap in that day – it was wonderful!). After naps, we took off to Cory’s mom’s family get-together. The boys did a small egg-hunt (we were a little late for the real one) and won some prizes after finding each of their 3 eggs. After visiting with family, & a few too many sugar cookies & cups of chocolate milk for the boys, we headed home for the evening.

Colton found one!

Wyatt's stash!

Colton found his too.

Prize time!

Wyatt's new bubble kit.

The boys were spoiled with goodies from both grandparents that day – which we’ve been rationing out (or eating ourselves – the benefit of being a parent) ever since!

A wonderful day, spent with family.
