Wow – how behind am I on the boys’ monthly post…only about two weeks!!
Our February has been a busy month – between Cory working overtime on Saturday every weekend and the boys being sick off & on (which meant putting in a little more time at work to make up for my time out) – I feel like my spare time to get caught up on things has been non-existent this month. I don’t really mind because that just means I’m overly enjoying playtime with my little boys but it does mean that I’ve been slacking on blogging.
We’ve been having a very mild winter which has been nice to still be able to get the boys outside a couple times but we still have enjoyed quite a few indoor activities to break up our weekends. The boys & I have made two trips to the children’s museum – one trip with Cory’s cousin, wife & kids a couple weekends ago & another trip this past Saturday with my sister & nephews. The boys always have a fun time & it makes a couple hours go by so fast! We also made one trip to a local hotel for open swim on a Sunday afternoon as a family with Cory’s cousin, wife & kids. The boys were a little leery about the deep pools & waterfalls at first, but quickly warmed up and couldn’t get enough. The pools were nice & warm – which is perfect for little ones. They had one wading pool that wasn’t more than 1 foot deep with a small slide in it. They also had another pool that wasn’t more than 3 feet deep with a big slide running into it. The boys were brave enough to go down the “big” slide with Daddy. Colton loved it & wanted to go again & again. Wyatt like it but wasn’t volunteering to go down again – he was having more fun hanging out in the floaties in the pool & watching.
Sleep has been better this month – but as you can see from last month, always goes up & down. They are sleeping around 11-12 hours each night. They fall asleep somewhere around 7:00 PM. (Our bedtime routine is: bath (on bath night), lotion & jammies, blanket & book.) They both have been sleeping until between 6-6:30 AM on the weekends, although wake-up time during the week is 6:05 AM to get us to daycare & work on-time.
Wyatt
- shakes his head & says “No” more & more lately – independent toddler!
- was an awesome eater, but has suddenly become a bit picker (like his brother) within the last week, and is refusing most veggies
- has exploded with new words and will sometimes try to imitate words that you say (one of his “funny” new words is “washcloth” – it sounds more like “coc-coc” but it puts a smile on my face every time he says it!)
- points out the clock (& says “cloc”) in every room
- started asking for his stuffed buck before bedtime, so this is his new snuggle friend
- seems to have always favored me a bit – but has favored me even more in the past few weeks, especially when we read books at bedtime
- has 8 teeth (I haven’t done a thorough tooth check lately – so this may not be accurate)
Colton
- shakes his head & says “No” more & more lately – independent toddler!
- remains my picky eater, will even cry sometimes if he doesn’t like anything on his plate but if you leave it in front of him, he will probably start to eat some of it eventually – little turkey!
- has exploded with new words and will try to imitate words that you say (one of his “cute” new words is one of his teacher’s names – Miss S – he gets the biggest grin on his face when he says her name – LOVE it!)
- waves “Hi!” to everyone & also loves to say “Hi!” to people when we’re out & about – my little social bug!
- has started bringing his stuffed moose to bed with him; this only started because brother was asking for his buck before bed, so then of course Colton wanted his moose – his new snuggle buddy!
- has 16 teeth (I haven’t done a thorough tooth check lately – so this may not be accurate, but I believe all his teeth are in)
We have had a really mild winter too. I am from MI... I love the picture time line! So cute!
