Colton, who is usually our champion nighttime sleeper, has been revolting against sleep and wanting to party in the wee-hours of the morning all this week. It’s been rough to drag myself through a full day of work when I’m really lacking on sleep (remind me how I did it again during those early months?!). He’s been waking up around midnight – 1 AM crying and then settling down then you hold him but not wanting to back in his crib after that. Last night I sat on the couch in the living room with him for a half hour before I got him back to sleep, only to have him wake up within minutes of me putting him back down in his crib – poor guy! He’s ended up in bed with Cory & me the last two nights just out of pure tiredness on our part. Monday night he woke up at 3 AM and wouldn’t settle down for anything after that – he was up for the day but really crabby (I would be too if I was up for the day at that hour!). I’m not sure if he’s teething or what – we’ve tried the usual teething remedies (teething gel & Tylenol) but have not had much success in soothing him. Both Cory & I are so tired but I feel so bad for Colton because he was sleeping so well before this week – all through the night and usually until 5-6:30 AM, so I know he’s struggling from not having good sleep either.
On a funny & related side-note, Wyatt has been sleeping great this week. He has been our problem sleeper in the past (waking up multiple times a night) but this week he has only made a couple peeps when Colton is crying but goes right back to sleep with no problem.
In other weird news – it is snowing today. There is only a week and a half left in April and it’s snowing – yuk! The normal highs for this time of year are right around 60 degrees and we’re going to be around 40 degrees with snow today. We were spoiled with light snowfall & an early spring, with no snow after February, last year and this year have had a ton snow and continue with snowfall into April….will this winter weather ever end?!
Here are a couple random pictures of the boys from the past two weeks.
