The boys had a day of Eater-themed fun last Friday with my sister & mom. They dyed Eater eggs (Wyatt loved it and his eggs were very colorful. Colton was not happy about dying eggs so his were mostly white with a few spots of color on them.), finger painted Eater-egg shapes and received sand buckets with a stuffed bunny & snacks in them.
We also made our second restaurant outing trip last Saturday afternoon to Pizza Hut with a few friends. The boys did amazing and even got their first taste of Pizza Hut breadsticks – I was so proud of how good they were.
The boys first Easter went great. They both found their baskets right after breakfast (yogurt & cereal bar). Colton’s was hiding in the boys’ room and Wyatt’s was hiding in their play room. We went to Easter church service at 10 AM with my parents – both boys fell asleep during church. We spent the afternoon with Cory’s mom’s side of the family, which included a lunch of yummy grilled chicken and an Easter egg hunt for the kids. The boys (with the help of mommy & daddy) even found a couple eggs. Late afternoon and early evening were spent with my immediate family at my parents’ house, which included a dinner of delicious ham & cheesy potatoes. The boys were spoiled by their grandparents with Easter baskets full of goodies – summer outfits, snacks, toddler foods, bubbles, photo books and “Going to Grandma’s” mini-suitcases. Cory’s brother & his girlfriend also got the boys sports-themed (football & baseball) stuffed Easter bunnies.
We are now in the last week of April and still have a chance of rain/snow mix in the forecast for today – yuk! The weather was so beautiful on Monday that the boys & I took Bailey for a nice walk when I got home from work. (And with all the changing weather – the boys and I are all now battling colds.)
The boys had their 9 month pictures taken last week. The proofs were put online on Saturday. Cory & I couldn’t wait to see how they turned out – they are adorable! Now comes the hard part of narrowing it down to a select few for their photo book & for reprints.
The boys’ sleep has not been good lately. I think they are scheming together against us because they’ll switch – one will be a good sleeper and the other will be up multiple times during the night, then after a few weeks – they’ll switch roles! The boys are usually sleeping around 10 hours each night. They fall asleep somewhere between 6:45-7:15 PM and don’t wake up much for their last bottle around 8:45 PM. They are sleeping in their cribs for the night around 9:15-9:30 PM. They sleep until around 5:00-6:00 AM – depends on the day.
The boys have been eating a variety of real, adult food. They have tried Ritz crackers, graham crackers, bread, pancakes, muffins, mashed potatoes, Pizza Hut breadsticks, pumpkin bars and cheesy potatoes. They have been doing awesome and are getting better & better at feeding themselves. So far, I think their favorite has been pancakes.
Wyatt
DaDa & MaMa – Wyatt has been repeating the syllable “dadadada…” for a while now but I’m still not sure he knows exactly what it means yet. He has also started saying “mamama…” but of course that is only when he whining or crying.
Colton
DaDa & MaMa – Colton has also been repeating the syllable “dadadada…” for a while now but I’m not sure he knows exactly what it means yet either. He has not yet tried saying “mama” at all.
