The boys turned 7 months old yesterday! It amazes me how time just continues to fly by.
A few new updates since last week’s post: Wyatt is rolling over both ways now – from back to belly and from belly to back (he started this on Friday while I was at work, of course!), Colton is actually jumping in the jumperoo now (& loving it!) and both of the boys have moved on to trying peas and bananas and loving every bit of them. We also began feeding them solids two times a day on Friday – for lunch & dinner. So far we have not had a food that they boys did not like – I hope this trend keeps going and continues when I begin to try to make my own baby food. On that same topic, I picked up sweet potatoes yesterday while grocery shopping so they will be our first attempt at making homemade baby food. There will be two parts to the test – how long will it take me (it has to be quick & easy because I already feel like there are not enough hours in the day) and how will the boys like it? I’m hoping it’ll be a quick & easy process that will help save us a little bit of money.
The boys’ typical day looks like this:
5:00-6:00 am: get up, on weekdays one or both of you just hang out in your bouncer while mommy gets ready for work, on the weekends we usually cuddle until both of you are up and it’s after 6 AM
6:15-6:30 am: early morning bottle
7:45-8 am: naps
9-9:30 am: morning bottle, wash up & lotion, change into clothes for the day, playtime
10:45-11 am: naps
11:45 am-noon: lunch (rice or oatmeal cereal with veggie or fruit) & bottle, more playtime
2:00 pm: afternoon naps
3:00-3:30 pm: mid-afternoon bottle, playtime
3:30 pm: weekdays daddy home from work, daddy takes Bailey for walk or shovels snow or cleans up
4:15-4:45 pm: naps some days, other days just more playtime
4:20 pm: weekdays mommy home from work, if you are napping then mommy works out or does laundry or pays bills or cleans up, otherwise we PLAY!
6 pm: supper (rice or oatmeal cereal with veggie or fruit) & bottle, a little playtime and then we start the bedtime routine of lotion & pjs (& a bath if it’s bath night), in bed by 7-7:30 pm
8:30-9:00 pm: one last bottle for the day (we tried cutting this bottle out this past weekend but the boys did not sleep very well so we will slowly be trying to wean this bottle down instead of cutting it out cold turkey)
Our blood is running green & gold today. Congratulations to the greatest football team ever, the Green Bay Packers, who are the Super Bowl XLV Champions! Go Pack Go!
