32 Weeks Old

Wow! I can’t believe we are already half way through the month of February. We are defiantly on the downside of winter. The warmer temps we’ve had the last few days along with all of the melting snow really makes me wish spring would make an early appearance this year. Last March was one of the warmest on record (with a number of days in the 60s) in which we also received no snow! I’m sure we won’t get quite that lucky this year, but spring is definitely on its way.

We’ve had a pretty mellow couple of weeks – which has been nice. This past weekend Cory attended a local ice fishing tournament which benefited UCP (United Cerebral Palsy). He was “lucky” enough to be interviewed while at the event and appeared on the local news. He’s definitely enjoying his new “local celebrity” status and is available for autographs anytime. The boys and I hung out at home on Saturday and had a couple of visitors – my sister and two nephews for lunch and some afternoon playtime and Cory’s mom to drop off early Valentine’s Day gifts for the boys.

The bad news is that our furnace started giving us problems on Friday night and, after having someone look at it yesterday, needs to be replaced. We have a geothermal heating/cooling system, which uses the semi-constant temperature of the earth to heat and cool using much less energy than conventional heating/cooling systems. It does contain an electric backup option, which we’ve been running on for a few days now. Oh, the joys of home ownership!

Colton has been sleeping great the past two weeks; Wyatt has not. I’m not sure if it’s teething or his belly or what, but he is waking up crying quite a bit in the middle of the night. Poor little guy. The boys are still sleeping around 10 hours each night. They fall asleep somewhere between 7-7:30 PM and don’t wake up much for their last bottle around 8:45 PM. They are sleeping in their cribs for the night around 9:15-9:30 PM. They sleep until around 5:30-6:30 AM. They both slept in until 6:30 two mornings in a row over the weekend but did not continue the trend into the week.

The boys continue to try new foods – peas, bananas and apples have been the latest additions. They seem to love everything we’ve given them so far.

Wyatt
Laughs – Wyatt’s laugh is such a deep chuckle. When he gets into laughing, he laughs so deep it sounds like it’s coming from the bottom of his toes! You can get him to laugh by tickling him (especially in his quads or lower back), playing peek-a-boo or doing absolutely nothing. His laugh is so addicting – you just want to hear it again & again!

Colton
Laughs – Colton’s laugh is more of a cooing/giggling sound. He is a little more selective about when he shares his laughs, but when he does – you’re addicted! You can get him to laugh by tickling him (same as his brother – in his quads or lower back), playing peek-a-boo or singing a funny song.
