We took the boys into the pediatrician Tuesday for their 12 month checkup. After a fun 9 month checkup with no vaccinations, we were not looking forward to this one which has 4 vaccinations and a finger-poke blood draw (to check for anemia).
The boys were both in good moods. Both boys checked out great and the doctor was very happy with the progress they have made so far. He was still very happy about and continues to see improvement in the shape of the boys heads – great news! He was very excited that we had already made the switch from bottles/formula to sippy cups/milk.
Here are their updated measurements:
Wyatt – weighs 22 lbs. 13 oz. & is 29.75 inches long (2 foot 5 in tall!)
Colton – weighs 22 lbs. 10 oz. & is 29.75 inches long (2 foot 5 in tall!

The boys did really well with their shots. They both cried but recovered pretty quickly. After getting them settled down & re-dressed we had to head to the lab for a finger-poke blood draw. After their series of shots, this wasn’t a fun thing to do either. Both boys did pretty well with that too, even though they cried during it, they settled down quite well afterwards. It was quite a long appointment. We don’t go back for a check up for another 6 months – for their 18 months check up. Wow – with going to the doctor so frequently during their first year, it’s going to be weird to go that long without seeing the pediatrician.
