A second camping weekend…

We filled every weekend but one in June this year with a camping trip. It was fun but the house work definitely suffered because of it – no worries here though, dust/dirt can wait while family fun & memories are in the making!

The very next weekend we headed up north to camp on the land that Cory’s dad is currently in the middle of building a cabin on. The weather was cooler but nice (which seems to be the theme this summer – rain & cool temps). We were able to get out fishing on Friday morning – just the 4 of us. The boys had a bit of an adjustment from fishing on a pontoon to fishing on a smaller fishing boat, but they did well overall. The best thing about the lakes up north is how clear they are – it’s fun to see below the water’s surface, especially when you’re reeling in a fish! The fishing this time was much more productive with lots of action (keeping the boys attention longer) and larger fish…we kept all but one. We froze our keepers for a later fish fry but were able to enjoy a yummy fish fry from earlier summer catches while we were camping that weekend.

It's a keeper!

Cheese!

Watching daddy's big "whoper" coming in.

Digging in the live well.

Family fishing time!
