My mom, sisters and I have always gotten together one day in mid-December to do our annual Christmas baking. We have definitely changed up our recipes over the past couple years – due to both Colton’s peanut allergy and just generally trying to eat/bake healthier but it’s still a fun day spent in the kitchen! The boys “help” when they can or want to…by “help”, sometimes that’s stirring, dumping & mixing and sometimes that’s just eating the ingredients (right Colton?!)!
We made sugar cookies (awesome recipe from Pinterest), brownie balls, 2 kinds of sweet Chex mix, reindeer poop (chocolate-caramel rice crispy balls) and rice crispy bars. It was a busy, fun day. The boys helped on & off and Grandpa was there to entertain them in between.
*This year my youngest sister wasn’t able to make it up – we sure missed her!
**A BIG thanks to Papa for helping entertain – this day would not be possible, or as productive, without him!
