As I look forward to the boys' 1 month checkup on Monday (I know - I can't believe my little guys are almost 1 month old), I realized that I did not write an update with their measurements after their 2 week appointment 2 weeks ago.
The boys went back to see their doctor again when they were two weeks old. They both looked great. The doctor decided to check Colton's bilirubin levels again because he still appeared a bit jaundice but she still wasn't overly worried about it at this point; it will just be something we continue to monitor.
Wyatt – weighs 5 lbs. 1 oz. & is 17.72 inches long
Colton – weighs 5 lbs. 5 oz. & is 18.11 inches long
Yipee - both boys have made it above the 5 lb mark!!
After this doctor's appointment I was excited to made an appointment at the hospital to have the boys "re-take" the car seat test now that they were both above 5 lbs. The car seat test has the baby strapped into the car seat for a total of 1 hour with their vitals being monitored to make sure that their body is ready to be in that position for an extended period of time. Both of the boys had a drop in their respitory rate before the hour was up - both FAILED, so at this point we are still stuck with using the car beds. The good news is that we do not have to re-take the car seat test even though both boys failed. Our pediatrician will work with us as to when the boys are ready to move into the car seats from the car beds. Grow boys, grow!!!
