I just want to start this off with a little celebrating – I am 34 weeks today!! The 34 week mark has been a longtime goal of mine since the beginning of the pregnancy when we found out we were expecting twins.
Our ultrasound went great yesterday. The babies look great and they are both growing and developing right on track. Baby A is still in the head down (vertex) position and Baby B is higher up and laying sideways (transverse). Baby A is weighing 4 lbs 5 oz and Baby B is weighing 4 lbs 8 oz. This is great news!
The not-so-good news is that my blood pressure was elevated yesterday (140/90), so they had to run a test to check my protein levels (which came back normal) and then do a re-check of my blood pressure. The good news is that is dropped enough during our waiting period (130/82) as to now be in the “normal” range but this will be something they will keep a close eye on and could lead us to an induced delivery of the babies. I will now begin going to the doctor weekly and have my blood pressure re-checked and along with an ultrasound each week until the boys arrive.
