March of Dimes – March for Babies

Each year, more than half a million babies are born prematurely, and more than 120,000 babies are born with serious birth defects. Too many babies start life in the newborn intensive care after they were born too soon or very sick. We can change that.

As many of you know, Wyatt & Colton were born prematurely at 35 weeks 5 days, which is a little over 4 weeks premature of a normal 40 week due date (although the exact gestational period when twins are considered full term is a much debated topic). The boys both weighed less than 5 pounds but we were truly blessed that neither of them needed any special medical assistance, special care nursery or NICU time.

The annual March for Babies event in our area will be held in May. My company has sponsored a team of walkers for quite a few years. The girl that normally takes on the captain position has decided to step down this year so I decided that this was a great opportunity for me to step in to help rally support for a cause that I am very passionate about.

My personal goal is to raise $200 by May. I know it might be a lofty goal but I’m hoping I can pull it off.

If you are interested in joining me at the walk or would like to donate towards my fundraising goal – please email me and I will send you more information. Every contribution is tax deductible and is going towards such a great cause!
