Welcome to March! March is coming in like a lamb this year – average temps & sunshine forecasted for today. We have a busy month of March planned already. We will be celebrating both my niece’s 9th birthday and our dog Bailey’s 5th birthday. I have a cousin’s baby shower to attend, as well as a couple’s dinner night. I am also looking forward to a Mom of Multiples consignment sale at the end of the month.
We’ve had another pretty mellow couple of weeks. We did attend a friend of mine’s surprise 30th birthday party last Friday night with the boys, which was fun. There were a ton of people there, including a bunch of kids and the boys did really well. We had Cory’s cousin, wife and their two kids over for pizza on Saturday night. It was fun to see the kids – their little girl is almost 2 and their little boy is two months younger than the boys, but just as big. We also attended church for the first time, as a family, since we had the boys baptized. The boys did awesome there as well. (I have really been meaning to start getting back into going to church weekly since the boys’ feeding schedule is a bit more predictable now, but we just had a busy couple of months – so I finally just set the plan for Sunday & we went.)
Last week I had a “snow day” morning with the boys; this week I had a “sick day” morning with them. My mom was not feeling well this weekend and just did not feel good enough to watch the boys yesterday so Cory and I slip up the day. I stayed home with them in the morning and headed into work around noon and Cory went into work for the morning and came home to spend the afternoon with them. It worked pretty well so that neither of us had to miss an entire day of work and we each got some fun time with the boys.
The boys are sleeping around 10 hours each night. They fall asleep somewhere between 7-7:30 PM and don’t wake up much for their last bottle around 8:45 PM. They are sleeping in their cribs for the night around 9:15-9:30 PM. They sleep until around 5:30-6 AM. The past two weekends they have been waking up around 4:45-5:15 AM (like they do during the week) but if we put them in a bouncer and bring the bouncer into our room they usually go back to sleep and we can get a little more sleep – at least until around 6:30 AM. They both slept until 6 AM in their cribs this morning!
The boys are still moving through more new foods – squash, peaches and chicken have been the latest additions. According to my mom – peaches have been their favorite! Chicken was the first food that did not go over very well with the boys. They both ate it but they would spit it out, not seem interested in eating and generally, just “choked” it down. We tried it two nights in a row so I think we’ll take a break away from that and try it again down the road.
Wyatt
Rolling Over – Wyatt has been rolling over both ways (tummy-to-back & back-to tummy) for some time now but he hasn’t really utilized that talent much until this weekend. Beginning on Saturday (although he’s done this randomly a few other times), he no longer stays in one spot. He keeps rolling & rolling & rolling……until he runs into something – then he gets mad! It’s so fun to watch and just so amazing the amount of mobility this has given him. I know this is the beginning of the end of the boys staying where I put them.
Colton
Rolling Over – Colton still just rolls over from this tummy to his back. He is really, really close to rolling from his back to his tummy…but hasn’t quite taken the leap yet. I know it’s not far off! He spends a lot more time on his tummy. When he is on his tummy, his arms & legs are just a going so I know it’s just a matter of time until he puts them down on the ground and actually uses them the crawl.
