We took the boys into the pediatrician yesterday for a second opinion on the flattening of the backs of their heads. Our regular pediatrician is out of the office for 6 weeks (or so) for hip surgery, so a few pediatricians from another near-by clinic are filling in for her.
We loved this pediatrician! He was so friendly and had great information for us. He said they both look great. He agreed with our regular pediatrician in that the boys’ heads look just fine and they are not at the point of needing any further intervention. He gave us a couple of new ideas to try to help minimized the amount of time the boys lay on that side of their heads while they are sleeping. He also pointed out that, with the boys spending more & more time upright (sitting up, sitting in their Bumbos, playing in their exersaucer), they are now spending more & more time off of their heads and they should only continue to get better from this point. Great news!
Even though this was not a scheduled checkup, they still ran a full set of measurements on the boys, so here are their updated measurements (although I think the lengths on the boys aren’t quite accurate as Colton is definitely longer than Wyatt…we’ll mark the inconsistency up to their wiggles they both had while on the scale!):
Wyatt – weighs 16 lbs. & is 25.59 inches long (2 foot 2 in tall!)
Colton – weighs 15 lbs. 9 oz. & is 24.80 inches long (2 foot 1 in tall!)

On a side-note, Wyatt is soooo close to rolling over. I had the video camera recording him for a while last night but he just didn’t want to take the plunge and roll all the way over quite yet. I’m sure it will be happening soon though!
I also finally ordered our Christmas photo cards last night and I should be able to pick them up today which will leave me enough time to get them out by the beginning of next week which is still one week before Christmas!
